DNA Testing Laboratory Certifications
UK Paternity Testing Centre's DNA testing laboratory is highly certified and accredited. Our laboratory has earned certification and accreditations from the leading professional organisations in the DNA test industry and maintains high testing standards.
ISO
The International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) is "a network of national standards institutes from 148 countries working in partnership with international organisations, governments, industry, business and consumer representatives." As the world's largest developer of standards, ISO is committed to raising the level of quality, safety, and reliability for consumer goods and services. ISO certification is recognised around the world as a sign of excellence and integrity.
In keeping with our own commitment to excellence, our laboratory was one of the first in the paternity DNA testing industry to acquire the ISO certification through ACLASS accreditation services. Our DNA testing laboratory is in full compliance with all standards set forth by the Organisation.
AABB
AABB is an organisation that establishes and promotes the highest standard of care for patients in all aspects of blood banking. The Parentage Testing Accreditation Program was instituted to create standards specifically for DNA testing laboratories conducting parentage testing. An AABB accreditation helps laboratories achieve quality performance.
Our DNA testing laboratory has been accredited by AABB since 1995. In addition, our laboratory director has chaired the parentage testing committee and has helped establish the high standards the AABB requires for accreditation.
The AABB is continually updating its standards to ensure the highest quality testing. In 2002, the AABB began requiring all accredited laboratories to test every exclusion (negative test results) twice. Our DNA testing laboratory became the first to not only comply with that requirement, but it took it a step further.
Our laboratory conducts EVERY DNA test twice, regardless of the results. From start to finish, two teams of laboratory technologists separately and simultaneously test each person's DNA sample.
