Twin Zygosity DNA Testing

Are you a twin but not quite sure if you are identical or fraternal? You can't always tell just by looking.

Twin zygosity DNA testing compares the DNA of two twins to determine whether they are identical or fraternal. Since identical twins are identical in every way, including identical DNA, we can conclusively determine if twins are identical. Fraternal twins only share as much DNA as normal siblings share (they would share about one half of their DNA).

The DNA of both twins is tested side by side. If the DNA matches on every single tested loci, the twins are identical. If the DNA does not match exactly, the twins are fraternal.
